John contacted me in May of 2010 regarding talking to me about our health insurance renewal. I was happy with our agent and told him I was not interested in a change. His response was "if I can save you $10K a year will you talk to me?" I told him I would be a fool if I didn't. Little did I know the string of events and negative reactions that I was about to create!
After the initial proposal and the level of cost savings the plan offered, I informed our current agent that I would not be renewing with him. Of course he wanted to know the details of this "new" and innovative plan. When I told him the "nay saying" began..."this is a gap plan, it's a high deductible plan, it's this, it's that!" Because I am not an insurance expert I became quite "nervous" about committing to SBS.
John and his staff assuaged my doubts and concerns and the rest is history. They have all been wonderful to deal with... not to mention the $$ we saved. I look forward to seeing what they bring to the table when we renew next year.

At the time of enrollment, Southern Benefit Systems came in and met with all 45 of our employees one on one and explained the plan that we had chosen and answered any questions that they may have had. After our first discussion, we realized that the employees would not suffer from either less benefits or increased rates. We were serviced well from our previous broker and were not looking for a change. We are so delighted that we took the time to see that SBS had products and ways to better our benefits and give us lower rates than the broker we had. At the time, it seemed as if it would be hard for us to change brokers, but in the end it was a matter of one call to make the switch. SBS made the change so easy that I was able to sit back and let them handle all the new paperwork while educating and enrolling the employees.
